Stress Management
How do elite performers thrive under pressure? There are so many techniques that can train an individual or team to perform at their peak under intense pressure. These include breathing exercises, imagery or mental rehearsal of pressure situations, along with effective attentional focus. With practice, these tools can be very useful. Imagery in particular can be highly effective in having a performer vividly rehearse a potentially fearful/pressure-filled scenario. The intention is that when this scenario shows up in real life, the person feels like they have been through it a hundred times already and they are ready to handle it.
Some people are born with an ability to excel under pressure...and others believe that you've either got it or you haven't. Not true at all. You can train yourself to become the clutch performer.
